Thirty feet off ground on tree limb out in the snow wind sleet and rainy weather. No protection. Residents/People thought it was a hornet nest. The outer (two) combs were white. Eight combs wider than deep hive frame and deeper. Most honey was goldenrod. Extremely smelly.
The colony was hived without a single sting. Very gentle. Rescued from being exterminated New Years Eve 2010. Colony w/queen doing great.
