The hive is in a large oak 40 feet up. Tree is approx. 30ft from roadway and on my property line. It has been there for a little over a year.
I witnessed the colony moving in last June (2007). I was working outside and was first alerted by it's presence by the sound of the bees as an arriving swarm.
