The hive is located in the hollow of an old oak tree beside Peters Creek Baptist church. The tree is next to the church's picnic shelter at the edge of the parking area and graveyard and stands over a brick housing for an outdoor water faucet. The bees enter the hollow about 20 - 30 feet above.
"This church is used as a rest stop for an annual bike ride. The last visit was in May 2008 and the bees were active. I saw 2 large swarms (basketball size) hanging on limbs of the tree in April 2007. "
