We built our house 2 years ago and the bees were in a hollow tree and we had the land 1 year before that so they have been there at least 3 years. Both of my hives have swarmed this year so I hope the new queen mated with the drones from this colony. I know they have been hearty for at least 3 years but most likely a lot longer. I call them my 3rd hive. I am in Rowan County and am a member of the county club here where I am program Director. Feel free to contact me.
