This honey bee hive is located inside a large branch of a large tree in the New Hanover County Arboretum/Cooperative Extension Center. Not sure how long it has been there but it is active and producing honey. Enter the Arboretum by the main front gate. Turn right through the rose garden pass through the Ability Garden turn right up the trail toward the Vegetable Garden. Look for a large deck to the left of the path. Look for a puddle of honey that has dripped from the hive. Look above your head to find the hive inside the branch of the large tree.
