Old termite/ant destroyed tree. Hollowed out. Height of tree was about 9 feet. Hole in side of tree (3incharound) is entrance. Tree/bees has since been cut and moved to my local apiary (four miles away)
I was asked by the homeowners association to remove this colony of bees. Due to the time of year and several other factors I decided that the best course of action was to cut the top of the tree off place wire mesh over it to contain the bees cut the bottom of the tree wire it shut wrap the entrace area to again contain the bees and move the entire tree whole to my apiary. This is where it is located at this time and next spring I will remove the colony and dispose of the log.
