The hiveis in an old blacj cherry tree and is about breast height in a tree which is appx 14-18 inches in diameter. Hive has been there at least two years.
Hive is along the appalachian trail a short (about ten minute walk) from the intersection of the Appalachian Trail and PA Rte 74 at a point southeast of Carlisle. From the parking area walk north along the trail thru a wooded area across a horse pasture and then into a woods. Continue walking through woods til the trail nears a fence line of a dairy farm on the left. About midway along the fence row there is a small trail relocation at a blowdown of several trees. The base of the largest downed tree is near the black cherry with the hive. My wife is a beekeeper. I'm willing to help a researcher find the hive.
