This is a large birch tree that has a hollow V starting at ground level and going up about 2 feet. It is in a very wooded area cool and dark. I was alerted to the tree when a friend said that he heard a loud buzzing noise in that area. I went to invetigate and found the hive. It is very active. dont know how long it has been there.
I intend to use this tree to attract swarms in the spring.
