This hive was discovered by a friend that was digging a pond and pushed over a tree that was in the middle of the area that he was digging. the hive was in a soft maple tree and about 25 feet from the ground. I cut the hive from the tree and placed it at this location. Just 200 yards from the first hive another hive was noticed in a tree that was loying down in the woods. that hive was also cut out of the tree and place at this present location. Both hives were very strong. One Italian and the other Carniolan bees.
